Tornado warning remains in effect for Kimball County
A tornado warning has been issued for Kimball County. A tornado has been spotted west of Kimball near Albin, about 22 miles northwest of Kimball, moving east at 50 mph

A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8:45 PM MDT FOR CENTRAL
KIMBALL COUNTY... At 745 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Oliver Campground, or 9 miles west of Kimball, moving southeast at 30 mph.
CHEYENNE AND SOUTHEASTERN KIMBALL COUNTIES...
At 828 PM MDT, a confirmed tornado was located approximately 1 mile south of Kimball, moving southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Damaging tornado and three inch hail.
SOURCE...Off-duty NWS employee confirmed tornado.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.
This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of western Cheyenne and southeastern Kimball Counties.
This includes Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 23 and 24.

To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
