EF-1 tornado destroys cinder block outbuilding southwest of Kimball
A tornado that destroyed an outbuilding southwest of Kimball at 8:01 p.m. Monday night was rated as an EF-1 by the National Weather Service Office in Cheyenne.

KIMBALL - A tornado that destroyed an outbuilding southwest of Kimball at 8:01 p.m. Monday night was rated as an EF-1 by the National Weather Service Office in Cheyenne.
According to the weather service, a thin rope tornado, with a width of 100 yards and a max wind speed of 100 mph, began along Interstate 80, five miles southwest of Kimball, and traveled 1.8 miles over mainly open farmland south of the interstate. The twister leveled an outbuilding north of County Road 28, throwing cinder blocks 50 yards.
A large shipping container was moved off its foundation and a large tandem-disk plow, weightin 20,000 pounds, was pushed 15 feet in a field.
No injuries were reported in the storm.
