More severe storms forecast for Nebraska panhandle, southeast Wyoming Thursday

SIDNEY - The border of Nebraska and Wyoming is the target for another round of severe weather on Thursday, the fourth day in-a-row for towns such as Kimball, Neb. and Chugwater, Wyo.
The two towns, along with Cheyenne and Harrisburg, are among the areas in an enhanced risk (three out of five chance) for severe thunderstorms in the afternoon. Large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado or two are possible.
WeatherEye Weather Center Meteorologist Mike Karow expects a repeat performance of Wednesday's weather on Thursday. Severe storms on Wednesday brought baseball size hail near Albin, Wyo. and a large tornado 11 miles south of Kimball.
"Hail, damaging wind gusts, and we still can't completely rule out a few tornado reports, either, by late in the day," Karow said. "Also, a threat for some locally heavy rainfall and that's why we do have a flood watch that goes all the way through 3 p.m. on your Friday afternoon."
The flood watch includes Cheyenne, Kimball, Banner, Scotts Bluff, Morrill, Box Butte, Dawes and Sioux Counties in the Nebraska panhandle; and eastern Laramie and Goshen Counties in southeast Wyoming. Karow says areas with heavier thunderstorms could get over an inch of rain.
The same counties are also in a tornado watch until 9 p.m. Thursday.
Daily thunderstorm chances run through Saturday before the area remains dry on Sunday and Monday.
