Timothy D. Weinbender Sr. of Dix NE, was born on July 19th, 1946 in Ovid, CO to Michael and Elizabeth Weinbender. Tim attended school in Julesburg and Greeley, CO, but started in the workforce earlier than most. He later went on to get his GED. Tim felt that he was never too old to stop learning; he furthered his education at Chadron State College in Chadron, NE. Tim was briefly in the Air Force, but due getting polio as a child, he was honorably discharged.
Tim worked many different jobs over the years such as farming/ranching, dairy farmer, pig farmer, butcher, driving trucks, construction, oil field, scrapping, maintenance for the Village of Dix, and raised his own horses, cattle, chickens, peacocks and parrots. He was also a previous member of the Dix Volunteer Fire Department.
Tim worked hard to support his family that he loved and cherished so deeply. There wasn’t much of anything he couldn’t do, or equipment he couldn’t run. He passed that knowledge down to his children. Tim was the type of man who would give someone the shirt off his own back. He was always willing to sit down and have a conversation with his kids or play with his grandchildren.
Tim is survived by his wife Claudia of 49 years, children: Shawn of Ohio, Rick and wife Kandi of Kimball, NE, Dina and husband Jay of Dix, NE, Tim Jr. and wife Alicia of Sidney, NE, Josh and wife Heather of Oklahoma, Amanda and husband John of Missouri, 13 grandchildren: Allen, Alexis, Savannah, Kylie, Brayden, Catilyn, Lance, Emma, Ashlynn, Marissa, Adielin, Jocelynn and Timmy. Siblings: Don of Fort Lupton, CO, Maryanne of Sterling, CO, Victoria of Genoa, CO, Tom of Seattle, WA, and Larry of Julesburg, CO and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Bob, Jim, and Eddy, Sisters: Georgine, Dorothy, and two infant sisters, and Grandson, Austin Weinbender.
