City moves council meeting to high school auditorium

SIDNEY -- The City of Sidney is moving the August 8 city council meeting to the Sidney High School auditorium.
The 5:30 p.m. meeting will include a public hearing on a proposed sale of the three-story building previously occupied by UST Global to WTA outfitters. UST Global moved many of its employees to home-based during the COVID restrictions. The company announced earlier this summer they do not have need of this size of building.
The full agenda has not yet been released.
Early conversation included moving the Sidney Police Department to the current WTA offices located between Sidney Regional Medical Center and the city's water treatment plant. The sale of the building on 13th and Illinois will include a cash payment with the WTA building.
Any person with a disability desiring a reasonable accommodation to attend a public meeting must contact the City Clerk’s office at City Hall, 1115 13th Avenue, Sidney, NE., seven days prior to the date of the meeting.
When UST Global came to Sidney in 2018, the company announced it will be leasing up to 65,000 square feet of a building and expected to hire 200 employees.
