STERLING, Colo. -- At the heart of every county fair is the 4-H and all it includes... and the food.

In Logan County, one name has been a landmark for cheeseburgers, hotdogs and a slice of pie for more than 60 years.

On Wednesday, Ashley Fehringer and her crew were busy serving lunches and afternoon snacks for the Peetz Lions Club. The lunch counter remains at the north side of the grandstands, although at one point it was outside, serving rodeo and concert fans from just outside of the building.

"We're out here serving burgers at the Logan County Fair. 'Boss Man' says we've been doing this since 1958, so we've been here for a while. We're serving up fresh burgers, made to order. You can't really go wrong with that out here at the Fair," Fehringer said.

The week of service at the fair support Lions Club projects.

"Proceeds go to the Peetz Lions. We serve the youth in our community as well as overall community projects," she said.

Historically, St. Anthony Catholic Church has offered lunches at the south end of the grandstands.
