SIDNEY -- In 2003, a small company in western Nebraska began offering phone services to local customers.

Brad Moline, President and CEO, founded ALLO Communications in 2003 and has continued his investment.

Since then, the company has expanded to fiber optics. Its service area has expanded from the Imperial area to Scottsbluff and areas between, Colorado and Arizona.

Clint Schleicher, general manager for ALLO's Western Nebraska region, says ALLO started as a phone company, progressing as needs and opportunities developed.

"ALLO first started as a phone company. We resold long distance services, phone lines and that type of things,"  Schleicher said.

He said the company then moved into fiber space. In Scottsbluff, the City came to ALLO and said they needed something better than what they had.

That's when ALLO entered fiberspace.

"It had great success. We had a ton of customer base," he said.

Schleicher said the company has had success and has expanded into residential service. He said he came into the company as employee No. 20.

"We're at 1,350 employees today. We've got over 150,000 customers. We're in three different states, Nebraska, Colorado and Arizona. Things are going great," he said.

ALLO is a privately funded company.
