Large hail, gusty winds and isolated tornadoes possible in severe storms Monday
SIDNEY - A pair of severe thunderstorm warnings in Banner and Logan Counties Monday kicked off what could be an active weather afternoon and evening for the Nebraska Panhandle, southeast Wyoming and northeast Colorado.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 p.m. for Cheyenne, Kimball, Deuel, Banner, Morrill, Garden, Scotts Bluff, Arthur, Keith, Perkins, Chase and Dundy Counties in Nebraska; Logan, Sedgwick and Phillips Counties in northeast Colorado; and Goshen and Laramie Counties in southeast Wyoming.
Radar indicated golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts in a severe thunderstorm warning until 5:15 p.m. for Scotts Bluff, Kimball, Banner, Goshen and Laramie Counties.
According to the National Weather Service office in Cheyenne, the main threats with any severe weather will be hail greater than two inches, gusty winds, and an isolated tornado or two, especially for areas east of I-25 in Wyoming.
