2023-2024 Kimball budget reaches its highest hurdle yet
In a meeting so large it has been moved out of city council chambers and into the Kimball County Transit Center, the Kimball City Council and Kimball Board of Public Works will convene a joint session Tuesday night.
Before involving the board of public works, the council will take care of regular business in the meeting. Human Resources services, security cameras in Gotte Park and the cities maintenance agreement with the State of Nebraska will all be discussed. A motion will also be made to appoint Jim Shoup as the Streets Superintendent for the city.
The Citizen's Advisory Committee made recommendations for changes to the Demolition and Reclamation program guidelines and the Business Improvement Grant guidelines. Both sets of changes will be before the board on Tuesday night.
While nothing official may come from the discussions on next years budget. It is a good opportunity for the council to meet with the board and discuss needs and concerns of the city. The session begins at 5:00 pm at 233 S. Chestnut St. in Kimball. It is open to the public. If you are unable to attend you can view the meeting via zoom at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81938988465.
