Scotts Bluff County approves one year and six year plan for roads department

The Scotts Bluff County Board of Commissioners has approved the one-year plan and six-year plan for the road department.

GERING, Neb. (KNEP) - The Scotts Bluff County Board of Commissioners has approved the one-year plan and six-year plan for the road department.

The one-year plan features 12 projects across Scotts Bluff County seeing improvements, all of the projects will cost an estimated $4,318,483 and will see work done on six bridges, and six road ways.

The six bridges receiving work will be the Broadway-10th Street, S. Morril Road, County Road 29, County Road H, County Road 31, and Finch Road bridges. All but the Broadway-10th Street bridge will have timber replaced with concrete, and the Broadway-10th Street will have its deck replaced.

The six roads receiving work will be Cook Oil Road, Sunflower Oil Road. Steagall Road, Swedell Oil Road, which all will receive chip sealing. Highland Road, will receive a two-inch overlay and a part of Highway 26 will have asphalt replaced with concrete.

The plan also features installing or updating 71 sets of stop and stop ahead signs. The county and state will work together to install theses and once installed will be managed by the county.
