DALTON -- The Dalton Fall Festival is scheduled for this weekend, Sept. 23-24. 

This year's theme is "Reliving Our Youth -- Which Decade was the Best."

The celebration starts Saturday morning with a Co-Ed Sand Volleyball Tournament. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and games start at 9 a.m.; four-person teams and each team must have at least two girls. Cash prizes will be awarded.

There will also be coffee, rolls and breakfast burritos served at the Senior Citizens Building at the corner of Main and U.S. Highway 385 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The parade is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Highway 385 in downtown Dalton. No cost to enter and cash prizes will be awarded. Call Kayla Wells at 308-250-2463 for more information.

Walking tacos will be served by the Community Shepherds at the Senior Citizens Building after the parade.

The Dalton Fall Festival this year will include a Car Show. Entries will be on display on Main Street. Registration is a 9:30 a.m. with the show scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1:30. p.m., followed by the awards presentation.

A free Hamburger and Hot Dog Feed follows the parade. The feed will take place at the corner of Main and Elliot Streets following the parade.

A craft show will be held at the Legion Hall from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids activities will be held 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Legion Park. Games and prizes will be available in support of the Leyton Volleyball Team. Planet Bounce Inflatables will have entertainment available; $10 per wristband.

Sons of the American Legion will be hosting a beer garden at Legion Park all afternoon.

The Kleech-Brauer Memorial Horseshoe Tournament is Saturday and Sunday; $5 entry and cash prizes will be awarded; Call Tina Sifuentez: 308-250-1442. 

Bingo will be held in the Dalton Fire Hall 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and a free will donation barbecue is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Legion Park.

The BBQ Cookoff is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Legion Park; wristbands are $10 each. Call Kayla Wells at 308-250-2463 for more information.

At 7:30 p.m., Eric Golden will be on stage during the Street Dance. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. with a $10 cover-charge.

On Sunday, September 24, The Gurley Lions Club will be serving breakfast 9 a.m. to 11  a.m., and the Community Church Service will be 10 a.m. at the high school gym with Pastor Bud Gillespie giving the message.

The Antique Tractor Pull will be held 1 p.m. at the north edge of Dalton with registration starting at 11:30 a.m. A sloppy joe feed will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fire Hall.
