All lanes of I-80 have reopened after a semi-truck accident just after 9:30 am this morning.

There was a driver and passenger in the front seat of the semi when it briefly veered of the right side of the road before over correcting and driving the truck into the median between exit 29 and exit 22. When the truck quickly became stuck in the soft mud of the median, the trailer tipped over on its side, blocking both westbound lanes of the interstate.

Both the driver and passenger were treated and released at the scene by Kimball County EMS. The Kimball County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation. The Nebraska State Patrol and NDOT assisted with traffic control during the incident.

Traffic was able to get through on the shoulder of interstate while emergency crews worked to slide the semi trailer into the median using a snow plow and heavy duty tow truck. The vehicle will be left on its side in the median until the correct equipment arrives to lift it later in the day, Thursday.
