OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - An Omaha doctor turned himself in to the Douglas County Jail on Thursday morning to face a manslaughter charge resulting from a fatal crash last month.
Dr. Mark Carlson, 60, was in Douglas County court a few hours later and given $250,000 bond. His defense claimed he had some sort of medical emergency but didn’t elaborate.
Investigators say that on Sept. 1, he was driving on Dodge Street in front of the UNO campus at 101 miles per hour when he crashed into an oncoming car.
The crash killed the other driver Anna Bosma, 22 of Sioux Falls, S.D., and injured her passenger.
Carlson was also injured and had been in the hospital and rehabilitation since the tragedy.
