Air Force plans Sentinel real estate town hall meetings
F. E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. – The U.S. Air Force, in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is holding two town hall meetings in Nebraska on November 6 and 8.
The intent of these meetings is to inform local public and landowners about real estate acquisitions planned in their areas and to provide an opportunity to ask questions of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers negotiators. The Air Force has determined the locations for the initial temporary construction easements and new perpetual easements for utility corridors.
To prepare for construction, the Air Force needs to conduct environmental and pre-construction survey work within the subject area. It is anticipated that non-destructive underground utility line location surveys will begin Fall 2023. The town hall meetings are scheduled for November 6 at Sidney High School Auditorium and November 8 at The Sagebrush in Kimball. Both town hall meetings will start at 6 p.m.
During these meetings, the Air Force will provide subject matter experts to explain the real estate acquisition timeline, process, appraisals, and negotiations. Landowners can ask questions of any of the representatives from the Air Force, and finalize any agreements currently being negotiated with US Army Corps of Engineers.
