Sidney Police: teamwork makes for better outcome
SIDNEY -- The Sidney Police Department and its citizens make a determined team. We need our citizens as much as you need us. A strong partnership between us is how we can impact crime and keep Sidney as safe as possible.
With this in mind, we are exploring a new partnership with our citizens that can substantially help us in our mission to keep Sidney the safest place ever to raise our families.
We routinely are in search of video in the investigations of criminal activity. This process can be time consuming and use valuable manpower when we may need it to complete other tasks.
We are implementing a program called, “Eyes4Sidney." Citizens can voluntarily sign up if they have video available that they would be willing to share with us in times of need. You would sign up with basic information about your location and the video available from your property.
Then if we had a crime in your area, we could email you and ask, at your earliest convenience, to check your video and get to us as soon as you are available. We would provide a thumb drive or DVD so that it did not cost you.
If a small video was needed many times, it can be emailed to us. We will have a form you can request from: [email protected] This form will be in a pdf format so you can fill out the information and email it back to us.
If we need your video in the future, we will reach you based on the availability and contact information you provide. If you have any questions you can call us at 308-254-5515.
Please consider this program and partnership as it maintains our safety and partnership that we all desire so much for Sidney, the community we all call home.
