UPDATE - A search for a missing Kimball teenager ended early Saturday morning when the boy was found safe, according to authorities. 

The Kimball Police Department says Robert Trefren was located around 3:00 a.m. after being reported missing after leaving wrestling practice on Friday afternoon.

Kimball Chief Jose Ruiz said there were no signs of foul play, but he had taken several steps to alert regional law enforcement of the situation. An Amber Alert was not issued, because there was no sign of an abduction. 

The Nebraska State Patrol used a thermal drone to search the city. A band of volunteers also searched parks, trails, stores and the neighborhood where Trefren was last seen.

The Kimball County Sheriff's Office, Kimball Fire Department and Kimball EMS also assisted in the search.  

Trefren had contact with his mother, who contacted police. Kimball Police ultimately located Trefren and took him home.

Robert "Robbie" Trefren, 13 of Kimball has not yet been found. Robbie was last seen at a friends home in the 1100 block of 8th Street in Kimball after leaving wrestling practice Friday afternoon. Robbie was wearing black sweatpants with yellow splotches and a burgundy hoodie with a liberty bell logo when he was last seen. Members of the volunteer fire department along with the Kimball County ambulance crew joined in the search with Kimball Police and Kimball County Sheriffs deputies. The Nebraska State Patrol used a thermal drone to search much of the city by air looking for the lost 13-year-old. A band of volunteers have also been searching parks, trails, stores and the neighborhood where Robbie was last seen.
