Sidney schools increases security through tech
RaiderMade Photography turns a profit
SIDNEY -- Sidney School District is applying technology to monitor the school facilities.
In the November 13 school board meeting, Director of IT Services Matt McKay outlined some of the upgrades that have occurred in the district.
He said the District will be installing Point2Point AirFiber system for network connectivity between elementary schools and the main campus. He said the AirFiber system was proven at North Elementary when the fiber was cut in April and the school has been operating entirely on the AirFiber since.
He also said cameras have been installed in the high school parking lot. The cameras are solar-powered and are WiFi connected.
In addition, 19 interactive televisions were installed throughout the district prior to school starting in August.
A system called PaperCut Printing has been introduced in the District. PaperCut Printing allows a print job to be released to any copier with the use of a badge. The system also enhances privacy for sensitive information and improves tracking of jobs from printers.
