City of Sidney changes online bill pay system
SIDNEY -- Residents who rely on auto-pay or simply the convenience of online payment of city services, may want to pay special attention to their utility bills.
The City of Sidney has stopped using Invoice Cloud, and is using Express Bill Pay.
"It started on the beginning of November. We're trying to let everybody know. We're putting it out on Facebook, our website, it's going to be in their utility bills, we're stamping the utility bills with 'Important, please read,'" said City Clerk Lori Borchert.
She said some customers may get a disconnect notice, although there will be no fees involved.
"If they (customers) don't hear about it from any other avenue, that's the only way they we know how to bring it to their attention. It's just kind of like an additional notice," she said.
Borchert said Xpress Bill Pay is similar to Invoice Cloud. Customers can use credit and debit cards, e-checks, or stop by the office and pay by cash or check. She stressed that those with online bill pay or auto-pay will have to set up a pay system between Xpress Bill Pay and their bank.
According to the company website, Xpress Bill Pay services including the following:
