County Oks purchasing motor grader with ARPA funds
SIDNEY -- Two vendors with several options approached the Cheyenne County Commissioners this morning for a bid opening on a purchase of a motor grader.
Representatives for Nebraska Machine Company and Murphy Tractor, both from Scottsbluff, were present for the January 2 bid opening. The following bids were submitted:
Nebraska Machine Company: • 2019 Caterpillar 12M3 with 5,878 hours with a list price of $189,500; $150,300 with a $39,200 trade; $165,500 with a different trade option valued at $24,000 the purchase price is $165,500.
•2016 Cat 12M3 with 6,690 hours, $160,000 list price:$120,800 with trade $39,20; $136,000 with trade of $24,000.
• 2016 Cat 12M3 AWD, 4,185 hours, $230,000 list price;$190,800 with $39,200 trade; $206,000 with a $24,000 trade.
• 2016 Cat 12M3 AWD 5,233 hours, $220,000 list; $180,800 with a $39,200 trade;$196,000 with a $24,000 trade-in.
Nebraska Machine Murphy Tractor & Equipment: • 2015 JD 770GT 6,773 hrs; $140,000 list; $95,000 with $45,000 trade; $105,000 with $35,000 trade.
• 2015 JD 770G 6,709 hrs; $140,000 list price, $95,000 with $45,000 trade; $105,000 with $35,000 trade.
• 2018 JD 770GP 5,614 hrs; $182,500 list; $137, 500 with $45,000 trade-in; $147,500 with $35,000 trade-in.
• 2019 JD 770GP 5,798 hrs; $192,500 list; $147,500 with $45,000 trade-in;$157,500 with $35,000 trade.
Commissioner Randy Miller said he was disappointed in the trade-in values presented.
"Right out of the chute, I'm not impressed with the trade-in values," Miller said.
Commissioners Miller and Phil Sanders said they favored purchasing the 2019 Caterpillar 12M3 5,878 hours price $189,500.
Miller motioned to purchase the Caterpillar 12M3 from Nebraska Machine Company without a trade. The purchase will be funded with ARPA funds.
