SIDNEY -- About six months ago, Brock Buckner, Sr., was appointed to complete the term vacated by the resignation of Roger Gallaway from the Sidney City Council.

He is now considering if he will seek a four-year term. He describes his six months on the council as "good, bad, eye-opening."

"I've learned a lot. I've learned a lot about my community. I've learned a lot about Sidney. I've learned a lot about the inner workings of our community. I would say overall good, but there are things that I have learned along the way," Buckner said today.

He said he hasn't decided if he will commit to seeking a four-year term on the city council.

"I'm still mulling it over, still talking with my wife. The commitment to the city -- can I do that fully, can I be effective in my position, can I continue to help Sidney become a better city, meet the goals of the city, the goals of the individuals, our community. I want to make sure that if I do this for a four-year term that I am fully affective, fully vested, fully capable of ensuring for four years that Sidney is going to grow while I'm sitting in the seat. So I'm not saying no, but I haven't said yes yet," Buckner said.
