PEETZ -- Peetz firefighters responded to a wind energy tower that collapsed near the Colorado-Nebraska state line.

The wind tower, located near Cheyenne County Roads 117 and 2, is shown buckled in two places.

"On Thursday morning (January 11), a wind tower at Spring Canyon Expansion experienced a failure. There were no injuries. Invenergy, who operates but does not own the tower, immediately activated its response procedure, and worked with local response services to address the situation. We are very grateful for their prompt and professional response, and we will continue working together to investigate the incident,” said Alaina Merrill | Manager, Communications.
