SIDNEY – The Sidney Red Raider girls and boys wrestling teams hosted Bridgeport Thursday evening at the Cabela’s Athletic Facility, with the Bulldogs coming out on top in both duals.

With only four wrestlers on the girl’s team for Bridgeport and just five on Sidney’s girl’s team, there was only one match wrestled because of matchups. That match went to Bridgeport’s Hayden Marks when she pinned Saphira Whitley of Sidney at 170 lbs. Bridgeport received three forfeits and Sidney four to finish deadlocked at 24 points each. Bridgeport received an additional point for most matches won to take the dual 25-24.

In the boy’s dual, Bridgeport got a Tech Fall from James Jeffords at 126 along with pins from Zackary Jeffords at 132, Jose Arreola at 138, Illias Lehman at 144, Harrison Barnette at 150, to jump out to an insurmountable lead. Sidney finally got on the board when Zech Roggasch won a major decision at 175. Patrick McCartney at 190, Matthew  Cabbage at 215, and Landon Hanes at 285 all earned pins for the Red Raiders. Sidney was unable to fill four weight classes which added 24 additional points to the Bridgeport tally.
