Sidney, Peetz, Bridgeport and Creek Valley will start at 10 a.m.; Potter-Dix and Leyton Schools will be closed January 15.

PANHANDLE -- Several schools in the Panhandle area are adjusting for winter weather conditions through Monday.

Sidney Public Schools: Due to the morning forecast for tomorrow, Monday, January 15, 2024, Sidney Public Schools will have a 10AM late start for all grades PreK-12.  This delay should provide road crews with an opportunity to clear the school grounds and roads. Buses will run according to the late start schedule.

Bridgeport Public Schools will have a 10 a.m. late start Monday. Busses will run accordingly and there will be no breakfast served.

Kimball Public Schools will have NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 15. Also, Kimball Public Schools will have a 10 a.m. late start on Tuesday, January 16. 

Peetz School will have a late start on Monday, January 15, at 10 a.m. due to the extreme cold and wind chill advisories. Buses will run on a two-hour delay so please plan accordingly. Parents, please encourage your children to dress appropriately for the weather and to bring a coat to school.

Potter-Dix Schools: Potter-Dix will not be in school on Monday, January 15, due to expected weather conditions. With snow possible overnight, winds increasing during the day tomorrow and temps dropping throughout the day, we are canceling school on Monday, January 15. The MAC boys basketball tournament game with Banner County will be postponed. As soon as we can reschedule the game we will send out another announcement with updated information.

Creek Valley: schools will be on a 2-hour delay tomorrow morning- Monday, January 15. All classes and child care will start two hours later than usual. Our bus will run two hours late and there will be no breakfast served. Please remember to dress appropriately for cold conditions.

Garden County: 10:00am late start tomorrow, Monday January 15th. There will be no morning preschool and no breakfast served. Buses will leave their pick up site at 9:30. The MAC boys Basketball game will be played as scheduled.

Banner County: no school Monday, Jan. 15 due to subzero temperatures.

Alliance: two-hour late start

Gering: 10 a.m. late start. No morning preschool.

Goshen County School District #1 in Torrington: two-hour late start.

Laramie County School District #2 in Pine Bluffs: two-hour late start. Buses running accordingly.

South Platte: two-hour late start. Buses run accordingly.

Western Nebraska Community College in Sidney, Alliance and Scottsbluff: 10 a.m. late start
