Chamber delivers quarterly report to city council

SIDNEY -- Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Toshia Jones gave her quarterly report to the Sidney City Council January 23.
A quarterly report is part of the contract between the City and Chamber of Commerce. The report included a report on Newcomer Packets.
"Part of my report is talking about Newcomer Packets so that's part of our contract. I just figured none of you have seen a Newcomer Packet since you've been here for a while. The city employees give this out whenever the utilities come on in the town. It's very bulky. Right now it's filled with lots of brochures from Sidney businesses, as well as some county ones. There's maps in there," Jones said.
She said the Chamber also provides lists of available real estate.
"Something else the Chamber provides in our contract is a housing list, which is Page 2 on the right hand side [of welcome brochure]. It's also on our website so people don't necessarily have to go to the Chamber office. We do update this as much as we can," she said.
The Chamber's website also has a list of available commercial properties.
She said the Chamber also offers tours for potential. However, this quarter the Chamber did not have any tours. She said the Chamber was contacted by a person "in the November time frame" from the California area about relocation information.
She said the contract between the Chamber and City calls for the Chamber to work with the City's Economic Development office. With no Economic Development director, Jones meets with City Manager David Scott.
