PINE BLUFFS, Wyo. -- The Pine Bluffs Police Department recently announced a new member of the force, K9 Macklin.

He is a two-year-old German Shepherd. He is trained in the detection of narcotics as well as tracking. The Department stresses Macklin is not a "bite dog."

K9 Macklin will be teamed up with Officer Miller and the Department expects them make an impact keeping Pine Bluffs a safe place to live.

The Pine Bluffs Police Department credits the support of Ragnar Defense, Casper, Wyo., for the donation of Macklin to Pine Bluffs.

Having a K9 in the police department comes with expenses and the department is looking for donations to help ease the impact on the budget. Community members have already shown their support of Macklin and the related costs. Call (307)245-3084 with any questions.

Sgt. Kemp was also recognized for researching K9 programs. It is his persistence that led us to our partnership with Ragnar Defense, according to a press release issued by Pine Bluffs Police Chief Austin Smith.
