SIDNEY – Senior Isak Doty scored 25 points to lead three Red Raiders in double figures, and Sidney advanced to the championship game of the C1-12 Sub-District tournament with a 72-46 win over the Alliance Bulldogs Tuesday night at the Cabela’s Athletic facility. The third meeting between the two Western Conference foes followed a familiar pattern with the Sidney outscoring Alliance in every quarter and pulling away for the win. The Red Raiders improve to 20-2 while the Bulldogs’ season comes to a close at 6-17.

Isak Doty got Sidney off to a fast start, knocking down 10 first-quarter points to boost the Red Raiders to a 16-12 lead at the end of the opening period. Junior Landon Riddle scored eight of his 13 points on the night in the second quarter to push Sidney’s advantage to 15 points as the Red Raiders held Alliance to just nine points in the period for a 36-21 lead at intermission.

Isak Doty resumed his offensive onslaught in the second half with 10 third-quarter points as Sidney extended their lead to 56-32 heading into the final period. Keian Kaiser chipped in 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Red Raiders advance to Thursdays C1-12 Sub-District championship game against Chadron. The Cardinals advanced with a 47-27 win over the Mitchell Tigers in the second semifinal on Tuesday evening. Tipoff in the Cabela’s Athletic Facility at Sidney High School is set for 6:00 p.m. It will be the third matchup of the season between 15-8 Chadron and the Red Raiders with Sidney winning the first two contests.
