The skyline of the seasonally popular Stahla Mobile Home Park has changed significantly. Twenty five brand new three bedroom mobile homes have arrived in town and all but one of them sit in a single row toward the front of the park.

A company that is contracting with Clean Harbors owns the mobile homes and has leased the lots for 10 years.

The mobile homes themselves have arrived after considerable upgrades were made to utilities in the park, including a new power line and utility poles at each lot. Now, as roughly half the mobile homes remain on trailers, the foundation work and more intricate electrical work is under way.

With 134 new positions to be filled at Clean Harbors between now and June, housing is at the center of the environmental companies focus in Kimball. Rentals are rarely available in Kimball and in many cases fall short of the needs of families that are moving to town. Clean Harbors plans to subsidize the rent of these mobile homes for new employees moving to town.

Long-term, the housing project may be available to the public, or involved in other growth opportunities like the looming missile project.
