PANHANDLE -- Power companies busy in their second week of restoring power when yet another wind storm knocked out power. 

At 7:45 p.m. April 15, Wheat Belt Public Power District officials reported high winds causing setbacks in their effort to restore power. In a statement issued on social media, company officials said with an already weakened system due to last week's storm, and the wind picking up again we are experiencing more outages throughout our system."

High West Energy is reporting an outage in the Carpenter area. If you are experiencing an outage, you are asked to call 307-245-3261. Late Monday, April 15, High West Energy reported an outage south of Grover.

In Alliance, this latest storm once again took out power lines.

 

High Wind Warnings again today
 

Northwest winds will be are expected to be blustery today in the wake of a strong cold front. Gusts to 60 mph are possible for western and southwest Nebraska through the early evening hours, prompting a High Wind Warning. Crosswinds will make travel hazardous, especially for high profile and lightweight vehicles.

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning in effect through the day. The National Weather Service also predicts showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Temperatures may reach near 60. Conditions will be windy, with a northwest wind 35 to 45 mph, with gusts as high as 65 mph.

Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts are expected to be a tenth to a quarter of an inch; except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
