KIMBALL -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted the company Tetra Tech to conduct business in Kimball.

Kimball residents can expect to see workers of this company in the area as soon as today through October.

Chief of Police Jose Ruiz says the work will mostly be conducted out in the county surveying land such as Line Surveys, Biological Surveys, Site Surveys, and Cultural Surveys.

It is unknown at this time what the larger project is that the surveys are for, but the Air Force has been saying for a while that contractors would be in town for the Sentinel Project.

Tetra Tech is a consulting and engineering  firm that focuses on projects in water, environment, sustainable infrastructure, renewable energy, and international development.

The company’s goal is to create more resilient and sustainable communities by offering their clients with cleaner, renewable sources of energy, implementing nature-based solutions, strengthening safe water supplies in response to water issue caused by climate change

The police department wants the residents to be aware so that people are prepared for the influx of population.

Ruiz is unaware of how many workers it will bring, and it will likely come in phases of a couple hundred workers at a time.

“We will see more vehicles and people, and the streets will get busier,” Ruiz says.
