SIDNEY -- Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Toshia Jones met with the Sidney School Board May 13.

She talked about some of the programs available to students and to the community.

"This is actually really new. We just put this out during the Sidney Career Job Fair in April. So what this card is, it's a QR code for all the seniors and juniors that are looking for resources," she said.

Jones referred to a "Bridges Out of Poverty" class she took where she learned people living in poverty often don't know where to get the resources they need. She thought the Chamber could provide direction toward some of those resources.

"I thought why not give our kids a heads-up as far as getting the resources they need. So, during our career fair we created these cards for them, which if you go to the QR link, it will list out all Cheyenne County resources: how to find a job in Cheyenne County, how to get involved like with a non-profit of some sort, if you're having health issues or just having mental health-type things where to go to find information like SRMC," she said.

Jones said the link is being constantly updated. She was asked if the QR code is available to the community. Jones said the card drew community interest and it will be geared more towards the community.
