SIDNEY -- Nathan Robinson, of Dix, was sentenced July 15 in Cheyenne County District Court on charges related to the theft from an 84-year-old Sidney woman.

Robinson was sentenced to not more than 30 years or less than 20 years on Count I, Robbery, and Count III Senior Adult Abuse of not more than 36 months with credit of 168 days served. The sentences are to be served concurrently, and with Kimball County case No. CR23-12. He will serve is sentence with the Nebraska Department of Corrections.

Robinson was arrested in southern Colorado and held in Fremont County Jail after Nebraska authorities contacted Colorado authorities to be on the lookout for Robinson. He was held at the Fremont County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.

 Sidney police obtained an arrest warrant on January 18 for Robinson after he was accused of assaulting an 84-year-old woman at Western Heritage Apartments and stealing her red 2012 Chevrolet Cruze sedan. It was determined Robinson knew the female resident and had been allowed into her apartment.
 
At 3:25 a.m. January 17, 2024, Sidney Police officers responded to the Western Heritage Apartments on a report of and 84-year-old woman needing assistance from medical personnel for injuries believed to be from an assault. Officers determined that a male known to the woman, Nathan J. Robinson, had been allowed into her apartment at which time he assaulted her and stole her 2012 Chevy Cruz. The victim was treated and released from Sidney Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
