Accident south of Kimball results in fatality

KIMBALL -- Early this morning, Kimball emergency services were called to a fatality accident south of Kimball. 

Fifty-five-year-old Daryl Scherbarth of Sidney crashed his vehicle just before 7 a.m. at County Road 28. 

According to Sheriff David Hottell, Scherbarth was driving southbound on Highway 71 when it appeared he lost control and ran into the ditch on the opposite side of the road. He then overcorrected, rolling his car and landing in the ditch on the right-hand side of the road. 

Nebraska State Patrol is handling the investigation.
