Authorities arrest Scottsbluff man accused of sending explicit messages to young girl

A Scottsbluff man was arrested after allegedly engaging in inappropriate conversations with a 10-year-old girl.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNOP) - A Scottsbluff man was arrested after allegedly engaging in inappropriate conversations with a 10-year-old girl.

The Scottsbluff Police Department took Victor Galindo Campos, 34, into custody after learning he sent sexually explicit messages to the girl via Snapchat, according to court documents.

The investigation began when the girl reported the messages to her mother, who then contacted police. Officers arrived at the home in response to a disturbance call and found Galindo being restrained by a male and a female.

During the investigation, Galindo, who identified himself as the owner of a roofing company, presented officers with a fake ID and offered to pay them up to $40,000 to secure his release, court records state.

According to court documents, Galindo said he paid $200 to have the ID made in Mexico and claimed he had used it once before when he was pulled over, receiving only a warning. When asked why he provided a false name during his arrest, Galindo reportedly told officers he knew he was in trouble under his real name.

He faces multiple charges, including bribery, false reporting, possession of a fraudulent ID, and enticement by electronic communication device.

Galindo was released on a $25,000 bond, with 10% required for release. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 19 at 2:30 p.m.
