SCOTTSBLUFF - Scottsbluff authorities are investigating an injury accident Monday afternoon at the 700 block of West 27th Street. 

According to Scottsbluff police, a 24-year-old male was transported to Regional West Medical Center with serious injuries after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a Lexus SUV turning west onto 27th Street out of a Dairy Queen parking lot.

On 8-19-24 at approximately 4:30 pm, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of West 27th Street in response to an injury accident.  The preliminary investigation indicates that an eastbound motorcycle struck a Lexus SUV that was pulling out of the Dairy Queen parking lot exit, preparing to turn west onto 27th Street. A 24-year-old male was transported to RWMC with serious injuries, and is believed to be in critical condition. 

Surveillance video has been obtained of the August 19 accident in the 700 block of West 27th Street.  O’Ryan Marsh, 24 of Scottsbluff, was riding a 2011 Yamaha FZ6, traveling east on 27th Street when his motorcycle collided with a 2015 Lexus RX450 H. The Lexus, driven by Burdette Kister, 89 of Scottsbluff, was exiting a Dairy Queen parking lot, and turning west onto 27th Street. Marsh was transported to RWMC by Valley Ambulance Services with critical injuries.

Excessive speed on behalf of the motorcycle is believed to be a contributing factor.
