SIDNEY – The Lady Raider volleyball team rebounded from a loss last week to the Sterling Tigers to out dual an undefeated Yuma team for their first win of the season. Sidney outhit the Outlaws for a 25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 25-18 on Tuesday at the Cabela’s Athletic Facility. Kierra Schrader and Reagan Nesbitt recorded double-digit kills to lead a Lady Raider attack that tallied 50 kills in the four-set match.

Sidney’s aggressive serving netted 14 aces, but also totaled 18 service errors in the match. Kayla Westby finished with five ace serves, including two during an 8-1 run to come from five down to win the first set.

Kierra Schrader ended the night with 14 kills while Reagan Nesbitt tallied 13 kills. Deanna Horst and Lilee Wieser added eight kills apiece in the win. Yuma was paced by sophomore Berkley Nighswonger with eight kills.

Sidney will host Brush Colorado and Ogallala in a triangular on Thursday in the Cabela’s Athletic Facility. Sidney will take on Brush at 4:00 p.m. followed by Brush facing Ogallala. Sidney and Ogallala will square off in the nightcap at approximately 6:00 p.m.
