Outage blamed on East Coast storm

SIDNEY - Verizon customers in the Sidney region experienced a widespread service outage Monday morning, according to Wireless World.

The outage, which affected Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile users nationwide starting shortly after 7 a.m., left many without cell service, but the providers were aware of the issue and actively worked to resolve it.

Customers were encouraged to use alternatives such as Wi-Fi calling, iMessage, FaceTime, Google Meets or Facebook Messenger to stay connected with friends and family.

Wireless World apologized for the inconvenience, adding that they will continue to provide updates as they become available. There is no official word on when full service will be restored.

In a statement published on social media, Wireless World staff said "We do know that this issue is also affecting several other carriers including T-Mobile, AT&T, and UScellular."

Service started returning to local Verizon customers about mid-afternoon.

“If you are still having issues, we recommend restarting your device,” a Verizon representative told NCN.
