OSHKOSH - The Garden County High School football team capitalized on 11 of their 15 drives to soar to an 83-49 homecoming victory over Leyton on Thursday night in Oshkosh. It was the sixth-straight win for the Eagles.

Sophomore quarterback Kole Fornander completed 5 of 7 passes for 170 yards and four touchdowns. Three of those touchdown passes went to senior Kade Collins, while junior Wilsie Lobner caught the fourth. Fornander also added 75 rushing yards and another score. He finished the game with a total of 245 all-purpose yards.

Lobner also rushed 13 times for 150 yards and three touchdowns. Collins hauled in four catches for 102 yards.

The Eagles' defense tightened up in the second half, forcing three turnovers and recording a safety to put further pressure on the Warriors. As a team, Garden County amassed 518 total yards, including 318 rushing yards on 35 carries and 200 passing yards on 6 of 10 attempts.

Junior Alec Watchorn led the charge for the Warriors, rushing 10 times for 113 yards, passing 8 of 11 for 141 yards, and even contributing 26 receiving yards, for a total of 280 all-purpose yards. Watchorn accounted for six of Leyton's eight touchdowns.

The Warriors finished the game with 434 yards of total offense—120 rushing yards on 11 carries and 314 passing yards on 19 of 29 attempts.

The Eagles, now 6-0, will host Creek Valley (2-4) on Friday, October 25, while Leyton, 4-2, will travel to Big Springs to face the 2-4 South Platte Blue Knights next Thursday.

Following the game, Garden County celebrated its Homecoming, with Olivia Christiansen crowned as the 2024 Queen and Kade Collins named King.
