Diller-Odell powers past Leyton in Class D6 playoff clash
DALTON - Seniors Teghan Rosebaugh and Braydin Wendland accounted for all 8 over No. 9 Diller-Odell's touchdowns and the Griffins defense forced 4 turnovers in a 54-26 win over the No. 8 Warriors Friday afternoon in Dalton.
Rosebaugh finished the game with 22 carries for 140 yards and had 4 rushing touchdowns. Wendland threw the ball 6-9 for 110 yards and rushed the ball 8 times for 36 yards for 146 total yards of offense, throwing for 2 and rushing 2 touchdowns.
The Griffins finished the game with a total of 346 yards of offense rushing 41 times and 236 yards and passed 6-9 for 110 yards.
Leyton was led by Jr. Alec Watchorn who finished the game with 64 yards on 9 carries and passed 9-11 for 96 yards and had one reception for 10 yards. Watchorn finished with 170 yards and 2 touchdowns, 1 rushing and 1 passing.
So. Austin Beutler passed the ball 4-14 for 50 yards and caught 5 passes for 53 yards for a total of 103 yards of offense and passed for one touchdown and received on touchdown.
The Warriors finished with a total of 110 rushing yards on 17 carries and passed 15-28 for 193 yards for a total of 303 yards of offense.
Diller-Odell will advance to 7-2 on the season and will move on to play No. 1 Summer-Eddyville-Miller next Friday. Leyton will finish their season 6-3 in their first year in six-man football.
