Knisley's six-touchdown performance leads St. Pat's elimination of Bridgeport in state playoffs
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — Senior running back Jaxson Knisley scored six touchdowns and the No. 7 North Platte St. Patrick's football team cruised past Bridgeport, 42-7, in the second round of the Nebraska School Activities Association State Playoffs Friday night in North Platte.
Knisley totaled 173 yards on 12 carries, finding the end zone five times on the ground. He scored twice on runs of 62 and 64 yards. He also completed a 25-yard touchdown pass to senior Logan Dodson.
The Bulldogs' offense was paced by junior Logan Levick, who recorded 68 yards on 10 carries, scoring the Bridgeport's lone touchdown. Junior quarterback Nikolas Weibert completed three passes for 45 yards.
The Irish improve to 8-1 and travel to Stanton in the quarterfinals next Friday at 7 p.m. CST.
Bridgeport ends the season with a 7-3 record, marking the end to their third consecutive playoff appearance.
