SIDNEY, Neb. — Cheyenne County’s election results are in, with all 10 precincts reporting. Voters elected new members to the Sidney City Council, Sidney School Board and village boards in Lodgepole and Potter.

Sidney City Council Race
In Sidney, incumbent Burke Radcliffe secured the most votes for city council, finishing with 1,216. Robert J. Kuhns will take a council seat for the first time after garnering 1,172 votes. Brian Fort collected 1,049 votes and Brock M. Buckner Sr. rounded out the race with 787.

Sidney Mayor Brad Sherman, and the new council, will be tagged with the responsibility of filling an additional seat left behind by Paul Strommen. Strommen, currently on the city council, won his election bed for the Nebraska State Legislature District 47 on Tuesday. He defeated opponent Larry Bolinger, 77.2% - 22.8% of the vote. 

Sidney School Board Election
Amber Talich led the Sidney School Board race, securing 2,167 votes. Brad A. Kennedy closely followed with 2,113 votes and Kevin Challburg earned 1,631 votes. Caleb Jones rounded out the candidates with 739 votes, just outside the top three needed to earn a seat.

Lodgepole Village Board Results
In Lodgepole, Susan Mitchell was the top vote-getter for the village board with 112 votes. Alan C. Runge came in second with 96, followed by Eric L. Dana with 78 votes. Gwen T. Devie received 67 votes, and R. J. Savely Jr. finished with 25. The top three vote-getters earn a spot on the board.

Potter Village Board Election
Three spots also needed to be filled in Potter. Voters elected Edward Revord as their top choice for the village board with 116 votes. Alisha Juelfs was close behind with 113 votes, while Melanie Rotert received 109. Jerry Deines finished the race with 91 votes.
