NEBRASKA CITY, NE - The Lourdes Central Catholic Knights scored a game-winning touchdown in the final minute of play for a second-straight week on Friday, this time to knock out the Plainview Pirates and claim a spot in the Class D1 semifinals.

LCC recorded the first score of the game - a one-yard TD run from Callen Schnitzer - to go up 8-0 with 6:19 to go in the opening quarter, but things shifted heavily in favor of the visiting Pirates after that. Plainview scored 24 unanswered points to take a 24-8 lead with 100 seconds remaining in the first half. Lourdes was able to get another score late in that first half, though, as Schnitzer connected with Blue Oggs for a seven-yard touchdown with only seven seconds left before the break. That made it 24-16 at intermission.

After Plainview hit a fieldgoal, LCC closed the margin again on a four-yard TD scamper from Levi Anthens that made it 27-24 with 2:33 left in the third. The final score of the game came when Callen Schnitzer found Oscar Krog for a six-yard TD toss with only 57 seconds left in regulation. The successful two-point conversion gave us the final score, 32-27 in favor of Lourdes CC.

The Knights turned the ball over three times, while the Pirates coughed it up twice; and Lourdes CC unofficially had a 347-321 lead in total yardage.

Karter Lingenfelter was a one-man show for the Pirates; finishing with two touchdown runs, a TD toss, and two fieldgoals.

Callen Schnitzer threw for 153 yards & two TD's with one interception for the Knights, while Brady Schnitzer had seven grabs for 78 yards. Blue Oggs finished with one INT on defense to go with his one TD on offense.

Plainview's season closes at 7-4, while LCC moves on to the semis at 9-2.

The Knights will visit 10-0 & top-seeded Sandy Creek this Friday at 5 p.m. with a trip to the State Title bout on the line. Catch the action Friday night on Otoe County Country 1600AM/105.5FM.
