SIDNEY -- The Sidney School District recognized the October students of the month in the November 11 school board meeting.

Students are to meet a specific criteria to be considered for the recognition.

 
These criteria are:
1. Superior academic performance, (or) dramatic improvement of classroom work, G.P.A., or attitude toward learning.
2. Exceptional work effort toward a particular class project,
3. Outstanding contribution toward to the class,
4. Leadership exhibited in the class/school,
5. Citizenship emphasized and modeled,
6. Service to school.
 
Recognized for the April 2024 Performance Awards are:
 
7th grade: Cooper Grove -- Cooper Grove has been named the seventh grade student of the month for his academic achievement and positive attitude. Cooper consistently participates in class discussions and leads by example. He successfully balances his studies with extracurricular activities. Cooper has demonstrated a strong work ethic in his first quarter of seventh grade by achieving grades of A in all classes Cooper is the son of Kurt Grove and Lisa Tooley.
 
8th grade: Nicholas “Nick” Adamson has been chosen as Sidney Middle School’s 8th-grade Student of the Month for October. Nick consistently displays the qualities that we find desirable of a student representing Sidney Middle School. Nick attacks new challenges with confidence and perseverance as part of his strong work ethic. It is his kindness and patience that make him stand out as a great classmate and student.In our experience with Nick, he has been respectful to teachers and other students. His positive attitude, excellent work ethic, kindness, and patience with others make him an excellent choice for Student of the Month. He is the son of Stephen and Autumn Adamson.
 
9th grade: Haven Hanley – Haven is always so sweet and helpful to her classmates. She comes to class with a positive attitude every day and works very hard. She is a wonderful human that cares about her education as well as those around her. She is always positive and is a joy to have in class. Haven is an excellent student who is always seeking to be a leader in class and clarify what she learns. She assists other students, is selfless, enthusiastic about learning, and a leader among her peers. She participates in Basketball and Golf. She is the daughter of Clint and Daina Hanley.
 
10th grade: Kylee Kampfe – Kylee has done a wonderful job balancing school and extracurricular activities. She is a highly competent student and a model for her classmates in and out of the classroom. She participates in Cross Country, Track, and FFA. Kylee is the daughter of Paul and Leann Kampfe.
 
11th grade: Lea Sandoval -- Lea is a hard-working student in class. She stays on task and is a great leader and role-model. Lea is very respectful to her teachers and peers. She is level-headed and friendly. She participates in the Danz team and Choir. Lea is the daughter of Mandy Sandoval.
 
12th grade: Kalynn Moore -- Kalynn is an excellent student who relates well with her peers. She is respectful and helpful to those around her. Kalynn participates in  a variety of school activities while maintaining her grades. She is part of the UNK Health Sciences Explorers Academy program. She participates in Volleyball, Dance, Track, Show Choir, HOSA, and Photography. Kalynn is the daughter of Matthew and Brittney Moore.
