Leyton Leads 2024 MAC All-Conference Volleyball Honors
DALTON - The Minuteman Activities Conference named its 2024 All-Conference Volleyball Team on Thursday.
Class D2 runner-up Leyton, fresh off their best season in school history, led the honors with four players selected to the first team.
The Warriors are represented by Shawnee Gamble, Zaili Benish, Ella Haley and libero Kaydence Haupt on the First Team. Other first-team selections include Ridglyn Stancyzk from Garden County, Crystal Dhooge from Potter Dix, Zaerihya Doncheske from South Platte and Angelique Camargo from Minatare.
The Second Team includes Garden County’s Payton Fornander and Kirstyn Beberniss, Leyton’s Sydney Fortune, Banner County’s Makynna Boettcher, Creek Valley’s Ava Fraass and South Platte’s Johanna Frerichs. Potter Dix’s Corina Mendoza was named the second-team libero.
Eight players received Honorable Mention for their efforts this season, including South Platte’s Jayla Paulsen and Ella Stanley, Bayard’s Shelbie McKibbin and Jessica Kappen, Potter Dix’s Jaclyn Worth, Micayla McConnell, and Ella Johnson and Creek Valley’s Karsyn Burgman.
