POTTER -No injuries were reported when a semi-tractor-trailer driver barreled through an intersection at the bottom of an Interstate 80 off-ramp at Potter on Saturday afternoon.

According to Cheyenne County Sheriff Adam Frerichs, the semi-tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on I-80 when the driver exited at mile marker 38. At the end of the off-ramp, the driver reportedly failed to stop at the stop sign and had to take evasive action to avoid colliding with another vehicle.

The semi continued onto the eastbound on-ramp, striking several reflector posts, a road sign and other Nebraska Department of Transportation equipment before coming to rest on the eastbound on ramp.

No injuries were reported in the incident. The on-ramp was closed to travelers while the emergency personnel responded to the scene.

An initial investigation stated drugs were suspected to have been a contributing factor in the crash. However, it was determined his impairment was age-related and not drug related. The driver was not arrested. His name has not been released by authorities.

The investigation is ongoing.
