KIMBALL -- The Vogue Shoppe in downtown Kimball is for sale.

The business itself has been open in Kimball for over 100 years, and the current owner, Linda Stahla, has owned it for over 40 years.

Stahla and her sister Rhonda Shutts bought it in 1980, and Shutts left the business after 10 years, so Stahla has been running it herself ever since.

The original location of the shop was the building north of Hometown Hardware. It burnt down in the 90’s, so Stahla moved the shop to its current location.

Stahla had also opened a second location of the shop in Pine Bluffs that was open for over 10 years.

"The owner of the building is selling, and he wants to sell the business along with the building," Stahla said.

The shop will not officially close down unless the next owner decides to close it.

Stahla sells a lot of products out-of-town by shipping them directly to her customers. She will either send pictures of products to them to decide if they want it or she will shop for them based on their preference in style and color.

“A lot of times, I have a personal connection with the people who are buying the product, and they trust my judgement,” Stahla said. ‘It just became more and more of people calling and asking to ship clothes.”

She ships to places all over the country like Alaska, California, Denver and Texas. She has also had a lot of support from surrounding areas like Sidney, Scottsbluff and Cheyenne.

“It’s been very challenging, but the clothing business is a lot of fun,” she said. “I will miss it if I sell it, and I hope I can sell it to keep it open because this area really needs a shop like mine.”

The shop carries a variety of clothes from size 2 - 4X and name brands like Tribal, Picadilly, and In Touch.

The Vogue Shoppe is located at 222 S. Chestnut St. It is open Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and closed for lunch from 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. She has her number posted for customers to call if they’d like to shop if she is not there.
