Chamber of Commerce announces 'Shop Cheyenne County Days'

Shop local awards program starts November 23
CHEYENNE COUNTY -- With the Christmas season in full swing, the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce encourages residents to see what the home towns have to offer before looking elsewhere.
Paige Kantor, vice-chair elect for the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce, and the chairperson for the Retail Committee, recently announced that the Cheyenne County Commissioners signed a proclamation encouraging shopping in Cheyenne County communities.
"The county commissioners have declared Shop Cheyenne County Days to be November 23rd through December 15th. It's a stamp card program that thanks people for keeping their money local and supporting their neighbors," Kantor said.
To take part in the program, shop at any participating retail store and earn a stamp according to how the size of your purchase.
"Every time you shop local every $20 spent is worth a stamp. Once your stamp card is filled, you just return it to the red box at our 15 different locations ... hopefully adding more," she said.
She said boxes will officially be out on Saturday, November 23.
Shoppers get a card from participating businesses, and have the cashier stamp it according to the amount of purchase.
"Once your card is full you return it. The week of December 16, we will draw winners. There are some pretty amazing prizes. It's just really important, this time of year especially, really all year long, to support our neighbors and our commerce that is throughout Cheyenne County. There's some awesome places in Dalton, Gurley, Lodgepole, Sidney, Potter," she said.
