The Kimball High School girls and boys basketball teams hosted games on Friday and Saturday to kick-off their 2024-2025 season.

On Friday, Leyton was in town, and too spite having only seven girls suit up for their game against the longhorns, the warriors were able to build and maintain a strong lead on opening night and strolled to easy victory.

The Leyton boys would not be as lucky, they got down early to the longhorns, who have stand-outs Kyler Lusche and Braxton Miller back from last years team. The second half had a running clock and the warriors lost by nearly 50 points to the longhorns.'

Saturdays matchup against Bayard was a stronger game for the lady longhorns.  They held the lead three separate times before falling 34-30 to the tigers. Shelbie McKibbon and Alexi Nesbitt both had strong showings in the game including fourth quarter points to take the victory.

Finally, Saturday's matchup between the boys teams proved too much for the tigers. The longhorns led 18-0 before Bayard got on the board. Several JV players got in the game for the longhorns as they beat Bayard by over 50 points.
