CHAPPELL, Neb. — Potter-Dix claimed their first victory of the season with a 39-14 win over Creek Valley Friday night.

Senior Crystal Dhooge led the Coyotes, scoring 14 points, including two three-pointers. Junior Micayla McConnell added 11 points and sophomore Corina Mendoza chipped in 6.

Potter-Dix forced 31 turnovers.

For the Storm, sophomore Catherine Tilghman led the scoring with seven points, while senior Ava Fraass added 5.

In the boys' matchup, Creek Valley’s Lane Brenneman delivered a 31-point performance to lift the Storm to a 60-53 victory over Potter-Dix. Junior Mason Timm contributed 13 points, all in the second half, and junior Zander Polk added 11.

The Coyotes were led by junior Landon Gasseling's 18 points and junior Dylan Tabor added 11. Sophomore Trenton Hickman contributed 8 points, including two crucial three-pointers in the fourth quarter to keep Potter-Dix in contention.

Following the games, the Lady Coyotes are 1-1 on the season. The Potter-Dix boys drop to 0-2. Both teams will face the Paxton on Saturday.

The Lady Storm are 0-5 and the Creek Valley boys are now 4-1. Both teams will travel to Peetz on Tuesday.
