Cheyenne County Chamber director appointed as Nebraska Chamber District 47 Advocacy Ambassador
Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce Director Joe McCarn is the new Nebraska Chamber District 47 Advocacy Ambassador. This new role will be instrumental in ensuring that local businesses are represented effectively at various legislative levels.

SIDNEY -- Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce Director Joe McCarn is the new Nebraska Chamber District 47 Advocacy Ambassador.
“I am incredibly excited to take on this additional responsibility and what it signifies for the Cheyenne County Chamber and all our members. I am looking forward to continuing to work with Paul Strommen. Together, we will advocate for our community and strengthen our voice in the legislative arena," said Joe McCarn.
This new role will be instrumental in ensuring that local businesses are represented effectively at various legislative levels. McCarn said he was contacted by the Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce asking if he knew anyone who would be interested in the role of District 47 Advocacy Ambassador. He contacted some Cheyenne County Chamber members who he thought would be interested and have time.
"All of them I sent it to felt that they were too busy and didn't want to take it on, which I understand. So I went ahead and applied myself. I wanted some representative here on that. I just think it's going to be a great thing for our community," he said.
McCarn applied for the position Monday and received a confirmation email Tuesday. said the role as District 47 Advocacy Ambassador will not impact his duties with the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce.
"I'll keep doing what I'm doing here. It will benefit the Chamber and the Chamber members quite a bit because we will hear about the Legislative issues a lot quicker, and so I'm looking forward to that; not just hearing about it, but we can maybe give input into it, too," he said.
As the Advocacy Ambassador for District 47, Joe will serve as a key liaison between the Nebraska Chamber and Paul Strommen, focusing on the priority legislative issues that impact our business community.
