Ogallala sweeps Bridgeport in first games of 2025
BRIDGEPORT - The Lady Indians jumped out to a 11-1 lead to start the game which helped them hold on to a 10 point victory, 54-44, over Bridgeport Tuesday evening.
Freshman Shaydyn Rasby led Ogallala with 18 points, 14 of which coming in the first half. Junior Hayden Shaw added 12 points and knocked down three 3-pointers.
Junior Addison Slama ended the night with 9 points and junior Lane Caskey finished with 8 before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Indians finished the night knocking down four 3-pointers and shot 60% from the free throw line going 6-for-10.
Bridgeport was led by sophomore Olivia Brown who ended the night with 20 points, scoring the Lady Bulldogs first 11 points of the game.
Junior Jailyn Nichols added 10 points and Tacey From chipped in 8, all coming in the fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs finished the game shooting 89% from the line going 16-of-18.
On the boys side of things, Ogallala held Bridgeport to only 5 points in the third quarter to help get a 55-48 win and remain undefeated. Junior Sawyer Smith finished the game with 18 points, 11 coming in the second half.
Junior Rylan Gilmore added 13 points and sophomore Lincoln Gillen added 9 points, all coming from three point land.
The Bulldogs were led by sophomore Hayes Watts who captured 20 points, knocking down two 3-pointers in the first half.
Sophomore Landon Dean added 13 points, with 11 of them coming in the first half. Junior Gage Nein added six points coming from 3-pointers.
The Lady Indians will advance to 7-3 while the boys stay undefeated at 10-0 and will host Cozad this Friday. The Lady Bulldogs get their first loss of the season at 8-1 and the boys fall to 4-5 and will travel to Alliance on Saturday.
